The P&M Edits
A considered set of notes on hotels, restaurants, bars and global escapes.
Written for planning, not saving.
How Edits work
Edits are written to remove guesswork. Each one is a considered read on a hotel, restaurant, bar, experience or place to go, shaped by the details that matter once you are there.
The aim is not to cover everything. The aim is to make the decision easier and the experience better, with calm guidance you can use quickly.
What an Edit includes
An Edit includes timing notes that change the mood, a room or table note when it genuinely matters with and clear direction on what to order and what to expect. It also ends with a short line on who it suits, so expectations are set before you arrive.
The standard
Every recommendation is judged on five points: service, design, food and drink, atmosphere and value. Value is not cheap or expensive. It is whether the experience earns the price paid. If it does not deliver, it does not make the Edit.
Transparency
Hosted stays, partnerships and invitations are always noted. Opinions remain our own.
Hart Shoreditch | Contemporary Comfort with an Edge
City views and bright interiors give the King Deluxe Room at Hart Shoreditch a sense of openness, while downstairs the Lobby Bar moves acts as the beating heart of the hotel. We explore how contemporary design and relaxed hospitality come together at this East London hotel.
Vintry & Mercer | Modern Comfort in the City
Behind a discreet entrance on Garlick Hill, Vintry & Mercer combines modern interiors with references to the City’s past. We stay in a Superior Room, where green velvet, London maps and practical details give a compact space character, and consider where the service delivers and where it could improve.
Fortnum & Mason at The Royal Exchange | An Evening by the Bar
Before dinner elsewhere in London, we take a seat at Fortnum & Mason’s Royal Exchange bar for drinks and light bites. The courtyard makes an immediate impression, but it is an observant bartender and a small gesture of service that distinguish the visit.
One Night at ME London, Explored
A one-night stay at ME London, centred on an Extra ME+ Junior Suite and an evening at Radio Rooftop Bar, exploring how design, location and atmosphere shape a considered and well-paced city stay.
An Evening in Mayfair, Edited
A Mayfair evening done properly is never rushed. It is a steady experience from daylight to lamplight, with time to browse, walk and arrive at your reservation feeling composed and never flustered. This Edit begins at Selfridges, moves west via Grosvenor Square and ends at Claridge’s, designed for pace and ease with one anchor reservation and plenty of space for the city to build a story around you.
