The St. Regis London Will Open in Mayfair This Autumn

One of London's most anticipated luxury hotel openings is set to arrive this autumn as The St. Regis London opens its doors in Mayfair.

Occupying the former Westbury Hotel at the corner of Bond Street and Conduit Street, the property has undergone a complete transformation and will feature 193 rooms and suites, a new wellness offering and the signature St. Regis Butler Service.

Several aspects of the announcement immediately stand out.

The first is the location. Few addresses place guests closer to the heart of Mayfair's luxury shopping, galleries and cultural institutions.

The second is the arrival of Le Perroquet, a new French brasserie from acclaimed chef Daniel Rose. The restaurant will mark Rose's first London venture following successful projects in Paris and New York.

Perhaps most interesting is the hotel's partnership with Sarabande Foundation’s House of Bandits, the creative organisation established by designer Lee Alexander McQueen. More than 1,000 artworks from over 80 artists will be displayed throughout the property in collaboration with the gallery, creating a living gallery.

London is no stranger to luxury hotel openings, particularly in Mayfair where competition remains fierce. However, the combination of art, culture and culinary ambition should help The St. Regis London establish a distinct identity alongside some of the capital's most recognisable names.

From what we have seen so far, the combination of a landmark location, strong culinary ambitions and a significant commitment to art and culture suggests this is a property worth watching closely.

Palates & Miles will be following developments closely ahead of the hotel's debut later this year.
